Margaret Kane
Teaching Assistant
Margaret's connection to herself and spirit began at age 21 when she lived in an Ashram for 5 years. Meditation was a life changing and practical tool, after being raised in a strict Catholic environment. Her interest in death bloomed as soon as her first child was born at home. Witnessing the miracle of birth immediately called Margaret to ponder what happens when we die. But that interest was tucked away as she moved into busy family life, raising three children.
Years later when Margaret's father-in-law was dying, her original interest was right there waiting. She noticed how the family all stood back from the bed, afraid - not knowing how to engage. Margaret walked forward, sat on the bed next to him and held his hand. It woke her up and made her feel alive. Following that experience, she trained with Hospice and enjoyed many years of visiting patients. Margaret's continued interest led her to start an Elder Care Collective serving local families. It was a natural flow with some of her closest clients to “walk them home” at the end of their lives. From there Margaret found the Conscious Dying Institute and graduated as a Doula and Educator. She currently works with the Conscious Dying Collective, following her deepest passion - Educating and supporting all aspects of the dying process.
