Jane Schares
Teaching Assistant
Jane’s journey with death/dying and grief work began abruptly after a profound loss as a teen. She became committed to exploring life and death more deeply than ever before, and the journey continues still. She discovered that there are a plethora of perspectives and beliefs among all people, and even more importantly, that there is an even greater truth in the non-physical aspects of Self, others, and nature. She has devoted her life to caring compassionately for those facing end-of-life as well as those left to grieve. Jane is a retired Hospice nurse, facilitated a grief group for youth for 20 years, a Conscious Dying Coach, and Sacred Passage Doula. Her greatest joys are in being with family, good friends, performing in the incredibly unique Djembe Drum Orchestra of Colorado, communing with animals, mountains, oceans, trees, and always expanding her knowledge, experience, and capacity for expression of love. She has been a Teaching Team member with the Conscious Dying Collective since 2020 and is passionate about supporting others who are drawn to self-inquiry and being an important part of the Death Positive Movement.
