Gabby Jimenez

Faculty

Gabby Jimenez has worked in end-of-life care for 15 years as a hospice and palliative care nurse and as an end-of-life doula, walking alongside individuals and families navigating serious illness, dying, and grief. For the past two years, she has brought that experience into pediatric palliative care, expanding her knowledge and understanding of the unique needs of children and their families.

As both a nurse and an end-of-life doula, Gabby brings clinical experience, education, stories, and a deep passion for this work to the classroom. Her role in Bridging the Gap: Pediatric Death Education is to take what she has learned from the clinical world and translate it into language and practical tools that doulas can understand, use, and carry into their own work. A significant part of that experience is learning how to communicate with children and their families, to meet them where they are, and offer support in ways that honor the fragility, complexity, sensitivity, and deeply personal nature of this work.

This is not about teaching doulas to practice medicine. It is about helping them better understand what children and families may be experiencing, recognizing where their role can be most meaningful, and building confidence in the unique support they can offer.

Gabby hopes to add another layer to what you have already learned, while honoring and elevating the compassion, presence, and gifts that doulas bring to children and families facing life-limiting illness.
